備註Background: A good dietary care may improve their nutritional status of the patients with dementia (PwD). The dementia dietary care competence of family caregivers may be related to the nutritional status of the PwD. Objectives: To explore the Dementia Dietary Care Competence (DDCC) in family caregivers of PwD in community. Methods: Cross-sectional investigation study with convenient sampling from dementia service settings, dementia outpatient in northern, central and southern Taiwan. A total of 330 family caregivers of PwD were enrolled in community. The Dementia Dietary Care Competence Scale had good reliability and validity which was used to assess the dementia dietary care competence of the participants. SPSS version 26 software was used to analyze sociodemographic data. Independent sample t test and one-way ANOVA were used to explore the DDCC scores of participants, compare the differences by the gender and CDR groups; the analysis of correlation to find out the relationship between dementia training experience and the DDCC scores of family caregivers. Results: The mean age of the participants was 53 years, with the majority being female (74.8%), married (76.7%), college degree or above (46.3%), without any experience for dementia care (61.3%) or dementia dietary care (84.5%). The mean DDCC scores of the participants was 68.38±11.37. The DDCC scores of female was significantly better than male (t=-2.673, p=.008). There were no age and level of education differences in the DDCC scores. However, the DDCC scores was significantly positive correlated with those had received the dementia dietary training course. (r=.191, p<.01 the ddcc scores of family caregivers who take care people with cdr was significantly lower than those p=".033).Conclusions: Family caregivers have received dementia dietary training courses or have taken care who were moderate and severe demented patient may have higher competence in dementia dietary care
